Plan your Budget right

Once your wedding budget is set, you need to have in mind a clear wedding dress budget. It’s important that you know this and stick to it as much as possible.  From this budget it might be wise to keep aside 10-20% for accessories like veil, jewellery, shoes etc.

Do Your Research

This is essential. Find out what type of dress you like most and fits you best( if you don’t already know). Speaking with a specialist might be very useful. We offer a free consultation with one of our designers during which you can try on a few dresses and see what type of dress is best for you.

Your venue style might also help narrowing down your choices. We’ve also put together a list of silhouettes you can browse through and see which one is better for you.  There are plenty of options, so keep your mind open and try on as much as possible.

Start Shopping

With a clearer image of your perfect wedding dress, you can now start shopping for your dream gown. List in the help of your best friends as well. They know you better than anyone else so why not have them help you decide. If you think you can do without them, it’s ok but any help will be great especially if you think you might be overwhelmed.  If you like a specific designer, try to find pout if they have a trunk show( travelling show of their collection) at a salon near you.

8 Months before the Wedding

Buy/ Order your Dress

About 8 months before your big day is ideal to have already a decision. You know its the one so this is the time to start the process of owning it. The shop will usually ask you for a 50 to 60 percent deposit on the dress in order to start working on it and delivering it without any delays. It should normally take 10 to 12 weeks from the moment you order the dress until it’s completely done so its good to have it ordered in time. Of course there can be exceptions and the process can be sped up but you wan to be safe with this.

Shop for Undergarments

This is one of the most overlooked details in a wedding dress plan. Its important to have the underwear at your very first fitting, just in case. This way if the fit is not perfect, you will know it straight away.
